Sy is an sixteen year old singer/actor. He has been singing just about all his life. At two, he began singing the "Hoover Jingle" (Nobody....does it like you!!!!!!!) in his crib and has been crooning ever since. At four, he played a Newsboy in a local production of Gypsy and was bit by the show biz bug. From then on we couldn't get him off the stage.
Sy originated the role of "Patrick" in the Radio City Xmas Spectacular National Tour in 2009, reprised his role last season and will return again this fall for the west coast run.
Sy made his Broadway debut in the Tony nominated musical Caroline, or Change at the Eugene O'Neill Theater. He also starred in the national tour of COC from November 2004 thru February 2005 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles and the Curran Theater in San Francisco and starred in a new musical called Passin' It On with the wonderful Len Cariou at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, FL.
He played the title role of John Harper in "The Night of the Hunter" at the NYC Musical Theater Festival with Beth Fowler (Boy From Oz), Dee Hoty (Mamma Mia), Mary Stout (Beuaty and the Beast) and Brian Noonan (Phantom) and recently starred as Mottel in "The Adventures of Mottel" at the Kaufman Center in NYC. This Fall Sy played Antonio Fiorelli in The Family Fiorelli at the New York Musical Theater Festival 2007 and was thrilled to be a part of the star studded Broadway Backwards 3 concert where he worked with the wonderful Sandy Duncan.
Sy has appeared on "The View", "The Maury Povich Show", "Conan O'Brien", "Star Search" and commercials for Nickelodeon, BJ's Wholesale Club, The International Toy Fair and a National Law Firm. Sy was featured in a musical showcase in New York City at Danny's Grand Sea Palace at age 7. He has also performed the Star Spangled Banner and entertained at half-time at Madison Square Garden for the Knicks and the Liberty and sang the National Anthem at Shea for the Mets.
He studies voice with vocal coach Robert Marks.. When not working, Sy enjoys participating in workshops, concerts and readings as well as fronting his rock band Oceanside.
